Vox Conqueror serial number 1046
April 1967
The model is designated on the serial number plate as a "ST30R", in other words a Super Twin 30 Reverb. From around serial number 1060 plates were stamped with "Conqueror" instead. 1046 was sold (and remains) in the UK.

Power section
The chassis number is 01071, the latest dated component "A7" = January 1967. In common with other early chassis, there are no side struts to support the upright, which makes for a slight floppiness in the assembly when out of its cabinet.
The plinths of Conqueror chassis measure: 21" x 4 1/2" x 2"; those of Defiants and Supremes: 21" x 5 3/4" x 2".
RCA 2N3055 dated "6K" = October 1966.
The power socket was rather crudely replaced in 1991. A Belling Lee is now back in place with a traffolyte panel to support it.
Preamp
Recapped around 15 years ago, the correct lenses returned to the indicator lamps. Chassis number 01045.
It measures: 21" x 7 1/4" x 3 5/8" (control panel depth). The depth of the bottom of the assembly is 3".
The misprinted panel. The Top Boost switch has "OFF" / "MRB" instead of "OFF" / "ON". Six amps are currently known with this type of panel.
The original small-value yellow Lemco electrolytic capacitors (date codes in late 1966) had completely dried out. The preamp would barely make a sound before recapping.
Cabinet
Numbered "14" in chalk (both body of the case and back panel), the fitting out - the adding of the grille cloth, handle, logos, etc. - done by Sylvia. Condition is generally good. The chrome brackets (for attaching the cabinet to the speaker cabinet) survive on the underside.
